Let’s face it, it’s hard to sell trading products online right now. From an owners standpoint it’s a challenge…but from an affiliate stand point it’s borderline impossible. Honestly ask yourself this question:

When was the last time you marketed a direct sale offer and got a positive result?

Your answer was probably “gee I can’t remember”.

That’s why the future is focusing on lead gen up front for the product, be it course or service, and putting trust into the hands of the company to sell that person. Trust…that’s hard to do. You can help the process by putting your stamp of approval on the product/course/service but it’s really in the hands of the owner to sell that person.

You might be saying “yeah Brad welcome to 2010”, but you’d be surprised at how many people do NOT get this. Either from an affiliate standpoint OR owner standpoint. As affiliate marketers we need to focus on driving LEADS for the owners to convert…as product owners we need to focus on CONVERTING THOSE LEADS!

So if you’re doing direct sales, you might want to take a step back and do the following:

1. Analyze current results
2. Check on product you’re selling to see if they have a lead offer
3. If they do, sign-up yourself and see the internal sales process! Or ask your affiliate manager for the process.
4. If it sells you…keep promoting and TRUST the owner to sell your leads.
5. If it doesn’t sell you…BAIL ASAP and find better offers!
